A moment of silence

Amidst all the terrorism and recession going on in the whole world, there is always a moment of silence when Manny Pacquiao, a phenomenal professional boxer, is on international television for a huge boxing fight. Manny's influence has greatly impacted the Filipinos especially to the public figures. I was browsing the net last night to check on the schedule and to my surprise, a headliner read " Military suspends offensives for Pacquiao-Dela Hoya fight." Logically, if we can put aside our angst this way, could it not be applied in real-life and be more sensitive? Oh well, I am only a tiny voice to speak up of what's happening today.

Anyways, going back to the event, the bout between Manny and Oscar had been one of the most awaited match. Ever since Manny dominated most of the tournaments, I felt this match was to somehow (in the slightest chance) regain what many Mexican boxers had lost. Yet after watching the fight a few hours ago, Manny has yet to be defeated. Although Oscar is really hot and all, Manny is still "D Man." Cheers to all Pinoys! OMG!!! I am so much addicted to this Series. I've been a follower since season 2 and to show support, I wave The Philippine flag for being currently on top of the race. Go Geoff and Tisha, make us proud.

If I may, I know that in every competition there will always be a loser and a winner. And it is inevitable that contestants tend to involve more than what is required and may say bad remarks to opponents. I believe that to be a good player, means knowing how to show sportsmanship to the rest. I hope that by the end of the season, these players would remember the wonderful experience more than the bad. Either we win or lose, whatever happens, the experience is incomparable. I wish I could join, too. Although I don't have the stamina to eat exotic foods, surely I'd lose on that challenge haha. Anyways, hep hep hurray for Philippines!

Swiss it is!

US Open finally ended in favor of Swiss tennis player Roger Federer. It is his fifth trophy in a row. Cheers to all fans out there!

I was so tempted to take a leave of absence to watch the finals between Roger and Andy. Good thing my angel whispered me not to make such a big deal out of the concluded match. Truly, it would have been boring. Straight set wins for Roger? Come on! Where's all the fun? I wonder what happened to Andy. Was he taken a back from Roger's whooping backhand? Or maybe Andy was just given a taste of what it's like to be on top of the game? I think more stamina is required for Andy. I'm sure the pressure was all on him, with whole world watching and playing in a foreign ground, I bet it takes a lot of composure. Another year to work it out and he'll possibly make it.

Nevertheless, I'd still vouch for Rafa and Roger as the unbeatable duo in tennis courts. What's next?

US Open Finals

The US Open is yet another history in the making. My weekend was actually spent watching the men's single semi-finals. I watched patiently the match between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic despite the crippling connection on live streaming. I was cheering for the Serbian camp yet Nole didn't manage to outplay the former No. 1 Swiss player. Bye bye for Nole sweetie, see you next year.

Meanwhile, on another window is the match between Rafa Nadal and Andy Murray. Yes, I watched both matches at the same time, talk about multi-viewing. Hehe well, it was indeed a very interesting match. Rafa and Andy held their viewers breath with their spectacular volley. If I may add, I find Andy a threat to Rafa's crown. He plays effortlessly and amazingly executes his strategy on court. He's got a promising future ahead of him.

Anyway, I didnt know that Murray won until this morning when the game resumed at 4pm EST. Hurray! He's a step higher to meeting legendary Roger Federer. I wish I could watch the game. Who do you think will bag the grand slam, will it be Swiss or English to win? We'll see.

Roller-Back

It's Thursday, nothing so much to do but planning what's up ahead for the weekend. It has become a weekend routine for me and my girlfriends to do a healthy recreation. For the Nth time around, we've been hanging out at the pool. And last weekend, I completed a lap. Bravo! haha. Well, I bet I'd definitely win a medal for swimming the slowest. hehe.

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing rollerblades for a change. I've always envied the group of youngsters in our flat rollerblading every weekend. They're like teasers to me. Ack! I want it so badly, eh?

Back in high school I used to own a pair of rollerblades. And I can well remember those times when I'd be out late just rollerblading with friends at the tennis court doing all the jumping tricks. Sigh, gone were the days. I am so tempted to go to East Coast for a rollerblades weekend. Wishful thinking...

Pit-Stop. Archie have been an avid fan of Formula One Race. And for that, I've started to appreciate the game. I guess it's true what they say, "If you can't beat 'em, join them." I've watched the recent German Grand Prix and wow, I was surprised to know that the current leading driver Lewis Hamilton of Mclaren-Mercedez is only 23 years old. He just joined F1 last year and he's been very competitive. Plus, he is currently dating Nicole of Pussycat Dolls. Talk about cars and girls, that's just cool. What more can you ask?

Unfortunately, Archie is a Ferrari fan. I'd like to beat the famous and join the team of Mclaren-Mercedez. Haha! Go Hamilton!

- The Unbeatable Duo -

Two thumbs up for these tennis players! For the first time in 5 years, Rafael Nadal was able to defeat Roger Federer of the Wimbledon title. I've been an avid viewer of Tennis for so long, this year is helluva remarkable year for Nadal. His road to success in Wimbledon is really a milestone of hardwork.

The match was indeed a great one. It topped all the matches I have seen so far. Hurray to both! Nadal Rules!
