Seafood Mania

And the winner is, Mississippi Redfish Courtboullion with Seafood Dirty Rice. This is a masterpiece for Chef John Currence from Mississippi. I chose his recipe because I liked the way he imagined how his customers would want their seafood dish to be cooked. If I were to dine, this recipe will be on top of my menu. It does not only satisfy the taste buds of diners but the genuine mixture of his choice of ingredients makes it more interesting.

The menu is a cook off and must-taste. The steps on preparing the meal are actually easy especially for those learning how to cook. I am a passionate cook myself. I always try to add something different on dishes to make it more authentic. In this recipe, if I were to prepare it, I would add a little sugar in the courtboullion to balance the taste of mixed tomato sauce and lemon. This would help widen the demographic palates from kids, teenagers, and adults. The reason for this is that not all palates would prefer the same flavor. Just like kids, they love anything that has a sweet taste. For teenagers, a twist of both sweet and sour would make such a matching blend. And for adults, the original mix of Chef John Currence would be perfect.

The main ingredient in making a successful and sumptuous seafood meal is making sure it is fresh. Hence, the consumption of domestic seafood is greatly valued. It will surely satisfy diners.

Ok, stop reading now. Visit the cook off or http://www.greatamericanseafoodcookoff.com/ site and choose/vote for your favorite seafood recipe and get a chance to win a trip to New Orleans prize package. Hurry, don't be left out of the plate!

Apologies

My dear readers, I'd like to apologize for the sudden change in my site. I was harassed all night trying to re-do the site. Unluckily, the template I had been using died on me. And due to manually transferring data, I was unable to save some important links. I'll have to work on it. Again, sorry for the inconvenience :)

Commemoration

Photobucket I'd like to greet everyone a Happy Baguio Day. Baguio City will always be the home I'd like to go back to. It was the place that nurtured me well. I will always remember it as the place I've grown. Since my christening in Baguio, I remember every summer of my childhood spent in the place. It will always be the simple yet blissful place I'd like to spend the older years of my life. Again, cheers to Baguio Day! The photo above is the famous Lion's Head, a welcome stone-carved symbol seen when arriving to Baguio City.

Death Race

If you are a person who loves brutal online games, then Death Race is the movie for you. While watching it I thought maybe the person behind it made his imagination on games come to life. It was interesting to watch.

The movie only had a few characters yet it is a good one. Seeing Jason Statham drive is worth it. Hehe. I suddenly thought, what is it about Jason's driving? I made my itchy brain do some research to see if there is any professional history behind his cameo roles of driving. But in my research, Wiki said that he was actually a professional diver. All along I was thinking it was a typo-error missing the letter "R" to make it a driver. Haha. Of course wiki is always right. So I guess, my hypothesis over Jason's driving skills is just a theory. Nevertheless, the movie is cool and I find him sexy when he drives especially with the accent. Hehe.

Oh-So-Friday

Wee! The feeling is great when you only had 3 days to work and then another weekend. Nice, right? Well, true but not so fast. Our taxi claim was not reimbursed for two weeks now. Gosh, I'm nearly broke. Too bad that me and my colleagues have to re-align our budgets again because of non-funded taxi reimbursements. Argh! Not only that, our system was down from 12noon until almost 4pm. Oh so friday it is! Darn! So look what I did out of total boredom.

Flirt that Hair

"Choose Me. Marry me. Let me make you happy." These are the memorable lines from the Julia Roberts movie, My Best Friend's Wedding. If I will ever be in the position of loving someone, better yet my best friend, I don't know if I'll ever have the courage to even blurt it out. But in this world where life is short, I bet it is better to say it all than never.

I tried playing Extreme Style by VO5. I played the role of a judge in the game. I get to pick questions to be answered by two players. Majority of the lines were mushy. I think pick up lines still work, atleast for me. The game was actually short but fun and interesting. You should give it a try to see what pick-up line could win your heart.

Nuts Crazee

People is going gaga over iPhone recently. Since its release, it has become a household name and a trendy epidemic.

But while reading several reviews, it seems that the not-so-hip thing about it is the battery. Some claims that it drains quickly. Well, with the load of different applications, I bet the battery is really consumed fast. Thus, a spare battery should come with it, dont you think?

And to add to this, I passed by this mobile shop with a huge poster of iPhone with its pros and cons listed down. Pros was highlighted saying that "over 800 applications available on Apple Store, 200 are free." And for the cons, it is unable to forward SMS messages, unable to send MMS, the camera is only 2MP. So, is there truth behind all these or just bad publicity?

For those with iPhones right now, care to enlighten us with your experiences? Please feel free to drop a comment at the bottom of this post.

A bit of Relaxation

I took a 2-day off from work to run some errands for my upcoming vacation. Oh how nice it is to stay at home and bum around. I just bury myself in bed, listen to good music, watch and blog of course. I wish I can have a life like this and still get paid, the effortless way to gain success. Hehe!

OMG, iPhone is now out courtesy of Singtel. But my girl friend who works for Apple distributor said that they still don't have it out. Crap! Should I doubt the iPhone from Singtel? Geez, faux out please!

Counting

I have been counting the days until I depart back to the Philippines for a short vacation. It's been almost a year. And I'm having mixed emotions right now. I'm excited and afraid at the same time. Excited of course to see my crazy-big family yet afraid of seeing home without my mom.

I have moved on somehow. But seeing the place where all the memories were left behind could open that wound again. I wish that I'll be strong enough to face the truth. That she's been gone. I'm going back to visit her grave and celebrate our birthdays. I know that she'd be happy. It just saddens me when I remember that after the success I'm having in my life, she's not there to witness it all. But somehow I have accepted the truth, that God needed her to be with Him in the place where sickness is non-existent, where there is no room for hatred, anger, selfishness, and the like.

Anyway, I hope everything goes pretty well. I've started buying stuffs for everyone back home. Ack! Money is gone in just a matter of minutes. Whew! Nevertheless, it is worth it.

Roller-Back

It's Thursday, nothing so much to do but planning what's up ahead for the weekend. It has become a weekend routine for me and my girlfriends to do a healthy recreation. For the Nth time around, we've been hanging out at the pool. And last weekend, I completed a lap. Bravo! haha. Well, I bet I'd definitely win a medal for swimming the slowest. hehe.

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing rollerblades for a change. I've always envied the group of youngsters in our flat rollerblading every weekend. They're like teasers to me. Ack! I want it so badly, eh?

Back in high school I used to own a pair of rollerblades. And I can well remember those times when I'd be out late just rollerblading with friends at the tennis court doing all the jumping tricks. Sigh, gone were the days. I am so tempted to go to East Coast for a rollerblades weekend. Wishful thinking...
