My 2010.

Olah!

I skipped work today to rest my aching foot. So I decided to visit my virtual site. Wow, that has been over 3 months of no update. The turn of events in my life had kept me away from here.

Geez, my last post was back in November. Wadda-eff right? Didn't even had the chance to share how my 2010 ended. Well, it's never too late, is it? I gotta say, I had just the right amount of ups and downs last year.
  • January: My status changed to married. Hence, I conquered my mission to somehow "win" the hearts of my in-laws. It was unexpectedly one of the memorable times in my life
    :)
  • February: Bound to Singapore to try my luck again since Archie is here. First trial of the year, was held in the SG Immigration for some interrogation. Yes, was asked questions but I did not worry a single bit. Why? Cause I fed them with the information rather than them searching for answers in their system. Told them it's "not my first entry to Singapore" and that "I worked previously under a different name". But since "I am now married, am using my husband's surname. Here's a copy of my husband's details. I also have the authenticated copy of our marriage certificate..." Then the Immigration Officer finally convinced that I am not here to do any thing but visit my husband. There goes the exit door and saw my hubby from afar. Whew!
  • March: Only went to two interviews. One was in Hitachi and the other was InterCall. Two different job scopes. First was logistics whilst the latter was conferencing. I prayed and asked God for his blessing. Either of the two will be fine. First luck of the year, I got the offer from InterCall. To double that luck, Hitachi also called to tell I was hired. But too late, I just signed with the InterCall just minutes earlier. Oh well, gotta let go the other. But yeah, thanks God!
  • April: Archie requested that we move to another place closer to where he works. We were then living in the East whilst his work is at the West. Yep, it was quite a sacrifice for him. He bare the travel for me when I used to work for DHL. But since I got a new one, I had to grant his request.
  • May: We found a place. It was in a condominium. Second trial of the year, our agent was a fake! We found days before we moved that owner didn't want to renew the lease so we only had 4 days to stay in that place and then moved to the next bldg. Mind you, it was our first time to move from the place we lived for nearly 3 years. This kind of mess was not an easy thing for us. And so we moved to the next bldg. Two weeks later, agents and prospective clients come and go viewing the place. WTH! It was chaotic! After that we were again moved to another condominium this time. And we were allowed to stay for a month only. It was up to us if we were willing to continue. The flat was huge with 4 rooms, etc. The rent was a whooping $4,500. N-O! @_@
  • June: Found a nice place. It was in Dover inside the Singapore Poly compound. We liked it so we stayed.
  • July: Jo and Wence came to visit. It was one of the highlights of the year for me. Got to visit Indonesia. We basked in the sun, and just had a real good time. Short and sweet month :)

  • August: I had the rarest conversation with my kumare Rona about investments. Since I chat with her a lot how I love to travel, she referred me to her agent about an investment that will be put to use in the future. I was engrossed with the idea that I liked it at an instance. Talked to Archie and we both liked it.
  • September: So I went to Manila for a short-secret trip to sign that investment. Boom! I have something I call my own...our own.
  • October: Archie's cousin, Kuya Vernz was hospitalized and was going critical. Tough but he managed, thanks God.
  • November: Mom-in-law was brought to ICU. Abnormal heartbeat. Sad, but she managed. Another work of God, thank you. The Pinay owner of the flat we were staying at said that we only have until Feb 1st of this year (2011) to stay. It didn't come as a surprise cause we were actually planning to move out. She just happened to spoke first.
  • December: Started to look for flats to rent. Viewed here and there until we found the perfect place. Lakeside it is! But before we even moved, we took a break first from all the stress. We went to Krabi, Thailand to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Straight from Thailand, we we eventually moved and welcomed the new year in our new-found home.
So that was my ups and downs of 2010 in a nutshell. Looking forward to having a better 2011 ahead!

Beach Mode II

Ok, the beach vacation was not over yet. I had another blast of fun in the sun before I fly back to Singapore. Water and sun is surely fun!

Beach mode

Alright...after a visit in the province, I packed my personal stuffs in my bag and headed for the beach.

Haay, my vacation here in the Philippines is really well-spent. Since I started working overseas two years ago, I usually come home to visit for only a week. So this time it's worthwhile.

Hello Bolinao! I love it...

Back to the real world

Happy days were over right after Archie flew back to Singapore yesterday. I was supposed to join him but since I recently ended my contract with DHL, it would be difficult to pass immigration unquestioned. So I decided to stay behind and process change of status in all of my personal data especially my passport.

I just gotta battle the lovesick kind of thing while we're apart...

Anyways, I'm here in Manila having a little taste of fun. I joined Tin with her friends at Star City and rode the breath-taking "Anchor's Away". Argh! The experience was surreal haha. I'll never forget it.

Bye Michael Scofield

I made myself available today to watch the finale of my favorite shows. On top of that is Prison Break, which I am sad that it had to end this year. I'm sure hell gonna miss Michael in the small screen.

About the ending, I find it a bit tragic. It's because after all the win-win battles of Michael in the entire 4 seasons, he died at the end...sigh. I guess it's the best way to confirm to the audience that there is no more upcoming season huhu. I wish the creator would think of a spin-off or anything that could lead star Wentworth again. I will surely miss the cast. Bye bye Michael Scofield, this show made my weekends worth looking forward to for the last 4 years. More shows to come!

Wholly molly!

OMG, is this true? The moment I got this email, I went online to search for it but found nothing. I think this is a sick joke. Poor Edward Cullen. I thought this might just be a publicity to re-ignite the flame as I believe this month is the start of filming the 2nd installment of the book. Darn, if this is true, his role as Edward Cullen would have died with him.

Although the article is quite dubious. No date and a slight grammatical error. I even thought that the writer may have allegedly copied that of Heath Ledger's headliner sometime early last year. Hmm, I don't have any proof to this but just a hunch. I bet the writer is bored when he/she wrote this.

Jack is back!

The long wait is over, Jack Bauer of 24 is back for season 7. I missed this show. After watching the 2-hour pilot shown last November, the series is now officially aired. I've got this on top of my lists to watch again. Prison break and 24 shows are aired on the same tv network. And I'm absolutely sure that both shows are equally the best.

Pre-order

The Twilight Mania isn't over yet for me. The DVD release is set on March 21st and I don't wanna miss it. So I pre-ordered a copy for myself. I'm so looking forward to it.

In regards to the book series, book 4 is still in shortage. But thanks to Rona I was able to finish the entire series during the holidays. She gave me the ebook copy of book 4 as my reservation has yet to come and I could not hold up to the thrill of it if I waited hehe.

Bonding

I was out with my colleagues last night for a dinner and KTV in Marina Square. It was my first time to hangout with them and I have to say, I had a great time. They're awesome! Too bad I didn't have any photos. We were all too caught-up with the fun and laughter hehe.

Since I moved to the new team, most of the time spent was just right in front of the monitor clicking the spoiled mouse here and there. I only realised now that January is over half way through the calendar.

Anyways, the dinner and ktv was a treat for us in lieu of the round table dinner we missed last December due to work. All of us were cool to sing our hearts out hehe I got to hear them sing cool Chinese songs. And I thought I gotta learn one someday hehe. I sang English but I sucked haha! Overall, it was a fun night. I got home at 4:30 in the morning. Too bad, I had to wake up at 7am to head back to work. That was definitely the uncool part of the fun hehe.

Movies this year

My addiction to movies have never ceased. I still eye for the best films to watch and this year, I make sure that I wont miss the best in line.

1. New Moon - Of course, this is on top of my most-awaited movies to watch. I hope it will be made close to what the book describes. Too bad, Edward Cullen only has a short appearance in the book. I wish his appearance in the movie will be lengthy enough to watch hehe

2. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - who wouldn't miss bumblebee?

3. X-Men Origins: Wolverine - I wish this will be shown real soon.

4. Jurassic Park IV: Extinction - hehe dino is back

5. Bride Wars - Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway together is really cool

What about you, any movies you'd like to see this year?

Moving on to 3rd

Photobucket

I'd like to call my chance to have a copy of this book pure luck. Whilst everyone is making a last minute shopping, I occupied myself rummaging every bookstore just to grab a copy of the 3rd installment. I wasn't ever this enthusiastic and attached with books until this time. I find it cool and a nice avenue for inspiration hehe.

Addiction

Photobucket So I am seriously addicted to the Twilight saga that I finished reading book 2 in one sitting. Whoa! I am lucky to be off from work today, I didn't have to worry getting interrupted with my reading hihi.

New Moon, the book 2, was not as honey-sweet romantic as the first one. I was bored at the first half of it. Maybe it was because the story was all about Jacob and Bella. But I was somehow touched when Charlie was talking to Alice about the devastating life Bella had after Edward left. Well, I bet I'd feel the same way if I were her hehehe. Anyways, Bella and Edward rekindled at the end. Now, I'm up for book 3. Sigh, I hope Stephenie Meyer won't end Edward story just yet.

Fast Forward

I miss my blog so much! I feel like I was just freed from a dungeon for not being in the blogosphere for a while.

In the short span of 2 weeks, my life was like in fast-forward pace. I was moved to another department at work which came in a huge box of surprise. Since my transfer, I felt like I traveled through a time machine because my time flew so fast that I didn't notice it's almost Christmas time. This is the only weekend I have for myself since I moved. Last week was a real work-my-ass-off kind of thing. My precious weekends were spent at work. Oh well, after I celebrated my first work birthday, here comes new challenges. I hope that in time, I'd be able to master the stuffs I am asked to do. I am still learning the ropes, it is indeed a big challenge for me.

Ok enough of that professional side. I just wanna share that despite my busy work schedule, I still managed to have time for my lurv, Edward Cullen. OMG! I have never been so attached to novels that I read until Stephenie Meyer's piece. I am driven by her great passion in creating such wonderful characters. Would you believe that I watched the movie for the Nth time now? Although the movie wasn't well illustrated as that of the book, I still watched it because of Edward. He was perfectly described and brought to life through Rob Pattinson's. It was indeed an amazing masterpiece. I hope that the movie sequel will be better, especially for Bella to act more like the character in the book. I love the book so much that I keep reading it especially the lines of Edward that makes me awe. Who wouldn't wanna be bitten? I feel like a teenager reading this book. For a busy and stressed-packed lady like me, reading the books keep me less troubled. It inspires me somehow. I'm still gonna start to read the second book. It's because I still wanna savor Twilight for now and I don't want it to end. Ok, I'm drooling in a broad daylight now haha. Tah!

Twilight Mania

Photobucket There has been a number of people that I spoke to in the last couple of days and all of 'em are raving about Twilight.

I always see this in torrents but it never caught my attention until yesterday. Rona had gone gaga over this new best-selling novel. After talking wildly about this, I hurried myself to the bookstore and bought myself the book haha. I want to be a part of this new book Saga. I have the copy of the movie now, but then I thought, I should read the book first. I'm excited to see what's in store for this.

A moment of silence

Amidst all the terrorism and recession going on in the whole world, there is always a moment of silence when Manny Pacquiao, a phenomenal professional boxer, is on international television for a huge boxing fight. Manny's influence has greatly impacted the Filipinos especially to the public figures. I was browsing the net last night to check on the schedule and to my surprise, a headliner read " Military suspends offensives for Pacquiao-Dela Hoya fight." Logically, if we can put aside our angst this way, could it not be applied in real-life and be more sensitive? Oh well, I am only a tiny voice to speak up of what's happening today.

Anyways, going back to the event, the bout between Manny and Oscar had been one of the most awaited match. Ever since Manny dominated most of the tournaments, I felt this match was to somehow (in the slightest chance) regain what many Mexican boxers had lost. Yet after watching the fight a few hours ago, Manny has yet to be defeated. Although Oscar is really hot and all, Manny is still "D Man." Cheers to all Pinoys! If you guys would like to know Manny, read it here.

East Coast fun-filled day!

Weee! I had a blast yesterday with some Filipino colleagues at the East Coast park. We had a BBQ party and it was really fun. I previously posted something here about my missing to play roller blades. Finally, I made it happen yesterday. Too bad, I wasn't wearing proper gear because I didn't know I'll be playing until King (colleague) told me to join him. Funny that he invited me yet he doesn't know how to haha.

Photobucket
Gleefully enjoying the ride without safety gears haha. I have not done this in years.

Photobucket
Snapshot of me panting like a crazy dog (but managed to smile) after a long skate. East Coast is like a hundred kilometers in whole stretch. And I didn't intend to burn all my fats in just one day by skating the whole park haha. I had to stop hehe.

Go Tisha and Geoff!!!

PhotobucketAlign Center

http://amazing-race-asia.axn-asia.com/content/season3/photos/group-photo-4.jpg

OMG!!! I am so much addicted to this Series. I've been a follower since season 2 and to show support, I wave The Philippine flag for being currently on top of the race. Go Geoff and Tisha, make us proud.

If I may, I know that in every competition there will always be a loser and a winner. And it is inevitable that contestants tend to involve more than what is required and may say bad remarks to opponents. I believe that to be a good player, means knowing how to show sportsmanship to the rest. I hope that by the end of the season, these players would remember the wonderful experience more than the bad. Either we win or lose, whatever happens, the experience is incomparable. I wish I could join, too. Although I don't have the stamina to eat exotic foods, surely I'd lose on that challenge haha. Anyways, hep hep hurray for Philippines!

Prison Break Update

Hi Everyone! I watched episode 7 of PB last night. I just didn't have time to update as I have so little time left. The current episode was very interesting for me hehe. I really applaud the brains behind this hit-show. The strong characters could be soft, too. Just like the task given to Sucre, he had to pretend like a hunk guy in the pool just to get close to the holder of Scylla. All viewers I assume may have apparently thought the same thing - that the guy is a gay. But hold your horses, when Sucre got invited in his suite for a drink, the guy happens to be married. And wanted Sucre to make love with his wife as his thing is useless (for lack of a better term) haha! It was a bit of a laughter on that scene. Nice one! Stay tuned...

Remember Michael Knight?

Photobucket

I am one of the avid viewers of the original Knight Rider some 20 decades ago. Coincidentally, it made it's television debut on September 26, 1982 - my bday. David Hasselhoff a.k.a. Michael Knight was at the prime of his career back then. Obviously, I was then too young (exactly 2-years old) to understand the show. But thanks for being in the third world, international hit-series would be shown after a few years. As I can recall, I think I was about 8 or 9 years old when I started to watch it in cable. Oh well, enough of the past. It just makes me older hehe.

The remake of Knight Rider debuted this fall with Justin Bruening a.k.a. Mike Traceur, the new driver of Kitt - name of the supercar. This is a brand new twist of story for the show. According to my source Mike is an ex-soldier that got recruited by Knight Industries to battle ruthless mercenaries. With the combined producers of "The Bourne Identity and Mr and Mrs Smith", the series is surely packed with speed, drama, and a whole lot more of twists. Another hint, Michael Knight is set to guest in the show. Stay tuned!
